Karoliina Paappa's exhibition ”Tyttö ja tiikeri” (The Girl and the Tiger) wakes up the die-cut scraps from our childhood. Paappa's works are shot in specifically chosen and installed places, where the artist has built mindscapes with blown-up die-cut scraps and ready-made objects. The models wearing masks have settled to the world of doves and tigers, and the episodes created into the pictures take us to the scenery of our feelings and memories

Paappa's works repeat stories, experiences, magical realism and the emotional relation we have with architechtual spaces. The pictures play with several elements that create certain scene surreal -makings. In her works Paappa deals with the relation of change and timelessness, together with solitary experiences that people can have in themselves.

The artist does not edit her works using image processing software.
