On Saturday, March 4th 2023 at 1:00 p.m., curator of the exhibition Snowflakes and Other Surprises Sigrún Alba Sigurðardóttir will share her thoughts on her concept of poetic storytelling and the artworks selected for the exhibition during the curator’s tour to the exhibition. The concept describes a certain lyrical way of using photography as a narrative tool and an attempt to understand ourselves and our surroundings reaching for the environment’s vibration, resonance. The tour starts in front of the gallery at 1:00 p.m., and will be held in English.
After the tour at 2 p.m., in Culture House Valve’s café, Sigurðardóttir and the artists of the exhibition will talk more about their own artistic practice. Artists taking part in the talk are Sanna Kannisto (FI), Hallgerður Hallgrímsdóttir (IS), Einar Falur Ingólfsson (IS), Nicolai Howalt (DK), Hendrik Zeitler (SE) and Helene Schmitz (SE). The talk will be held in English. The event is free!
