Open call for artist groups: Artist residency program based on photography art in Iceland

Northern Photography Centre announces open call for group residency in Korpúlfsstaðir, Iceland. Open call closes on April 13th at 4 pm (Finnish time). The Applications must be submitted by e-mail .

Please, include on your application:

  1. Schedule of work.
  2. Abstract of resume from each member.
  3. 3-5 sample images about the project or previous works. 

Applications are asked to submit in one .pdf file with the maximum size of 8M.

The artist-in-residency program candidates are selected by Northern Photography Centre and Icelandic artist organization SÍM. The candidates will be informed in May. Selected artist group will receive 1500 euros for month long residency. Residency program will also cover the travel costs and provide the accommodation and workspace.

Residency program is part of Arts Promotion Centre Finland’s project to increase artist mobility via accessible residency programmes. Artist-in-residency pilot together with Northern Photographic Centre provides a residency in August 2020 from Korpúlfsstaðir, Iceland.

Artist-in-residency program is focused for groups of two to three artists based in Northern Finland or artists that identify themselves to the North or their work has strong connection with the North. Proposals needs to be based on photographic art and at least one of the participants need to be photographer. Organizers encourage artist from different fields to apply to the artist-in-residency program.

Artist organization SÍM is an art organization based in Iceland. SÍM coordinates two residencies in Iceland and A-i-R program together with Northern Photographic Centre is located in Korpúlfsstaðir 10km from Reykjavik.
