In Susanna Selin’s always remember silkiness and water bodies exhibition body shapes and carnality are juxtaposed with nature’s relatable shapes and surfaces, building bridges between the images. Nature is being touched and it touches. Through photographic works made with different techniques, Selin examines the confusion caused by our difficult relationship with nature due to the eco-crisis. It is easily apt to create the feeling of experiencing one’s own life as an absurd performance. In the exhibition, the feelings of shame and love merge together in relation to the reality that surrounds us. In the series, nature is experienced as a feminine and vulnerable space.

The piece is partly inspired by Cuban-American artist, Ana Mendieta’s photographs and is an ongoing process. The exhibition and the artist’s work have been supported by the Art Promotion Center and Finnfoto.
