Kaukovainio Photowalk part 4

During walks, we look at the environment gently, critically and with new eyes. The goal is to reacquaint oneself with one’s surroundings. Do we see something with new eyes, are we more merciful or unmerciful? What the pictures tell about us and our environment. Photographic walks are led by visual artist Tuomo Kangasmaa.

In 2025, the Photowalks will be held in the greater Kaukovainio area. The photowalks will be compiled into a new zine and an exhibition that will spread across the Kaukovainio area in the winter of 2025.

Photowalks

Photowalks is an ongoing collaborative project between Photo North –  the Northern Photography Center and Valve urban neighbourhood cultureand part of the development project of the suburbs of the city of Oulu. The project aims to increase the well-being of the residents of the area and involve the municipal residents in the town planning process. Art and cultural activities act as conversation starters and a channel between the city and its residents. Fotonordic supports the photowalks.
