During walks, we look at the environment gently, critically and with new eyes. The goal is to reacquaint oneself with one’s surroundings. Do we see something with new eyes, are we more merciful or unmerciful? What the pictures tell about us and our environment. Photographic walks are led by visual artist Tuomo Kangasmaa.
In 2025, the Photowalks will be held in the greater Kaukovainio area. The photowalks are compiled into a zine and an exhibition that will spread across the Kaukovainio area in the winter of 2025.
The map for the exhibition can be found from Atla.fi (map opens to a new tab).
The digital photozine can be found as a PDF-file HERE (the file opens to a new tab)
Heinäpää Photowalks have been co-produced by the City of Oulu Cultural Services and Photo North – Northern Photographic Centre with assistance from Fotonordic. Before this third installment of Photowalks, focus has been on Heinäpää, Kaijonharju and Meri-Toppila areas in Oulu. Goal of the walks has been to make people more in touch with their hometown and bring a communal photographic journey throughout the year.
