Photo North – The Northern Photographic Centre will not be organizing open calls for exhibitions for Cultural Centre Valve’s galleries in 2027–2029.
The Oulu City Council has approved the project report for the renovation of the Cultural Centre Valve at its meeting on 9 March 2026, according to which the renovation of Valve will be carried out after Oulu’s European Capital of Culture year 2026 in 2027–2029. Photo North’s last exhibitions will be on view at Valve until the end of 2026. Photo North will not be organising an open call for exhibitions for the years 2027–2029.
However, this does not mean that Photo North will give up its exhibition activities completely. On the contrary, exhibitions will be organised in Oulu at partner premises and elsewhere in Northern Finland in cooperation with local cultural and art organisations. Discussions and other events will also be organised in Oulu in the future. We will inform you about these plans on our website and social media.
