During the meetings, we become sensitive to the hidden dimensions and temporal layers of nature. We explore how we can imitate the sounds of nature, such as the hum of the wind, the lapping of water or the singing of birds? Without words, we let our voices blend into the environment and become part of the landscape. How does our body feel when it produces sounds that resonate with nature? The exercises are done together in a group, and no one is required to perform individually. You can participate in any way you want. During the meetings, audio material will be recorded, which will become part of the exhibition opening at the Oulu Art Museum in the fall of 2026. Participants can become part of the result of the project if they wish. There are three meetings in total and they will be held at Ii Community College (Puistotie 1, 91100 Ii) on Mondays, June 2, June 9 and June 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. No advance registration is required, you can just show up. You can also participate even if you can’t make it to all the meetings.

A past participant’s comment on the sound moments:

“Being in a choir has been so liberating – there’s no pressure to find the right notes, just space to experiment and let our voices follow the group and our feelings. It’s freeing to work with the seasons the elements and let them guide us instead of sticking to a certain structure. There’s something really healthy about creating sound. Äänen together in an organic way – it feels natural and alive.”
