In Map of Fog II, Toivo Heinimäki looks at the feeling of attachment to a place (in Heinimäki’s case, a city) as the material and immaterial appearance is at a constant, inevitable change.
The exhibition consists of images, flashes, bits and pieces that Heinimäki has gathered together and archived from his hometown of Helsinki over the last few years. He processes questions about the state and appearance of changing city environments with photograph and his own personal experience of space. What good can change bring and on the other hand what small and beautiful in its ordinary appearance could be lost under the great and rapid changes?
